AMD Musings

If you have just recovered from the earnings blitz last week, especially Thursday, don't get too comfortable. Here we go again with another jam packed week of earnings. First up AMD's Earnings on Mon May 1st After Close.

Keep an eye out on the following:

1. How did the recently launched Ryzen CPUs do, considering the mixed reviews, especially around gaming performance ?

2. How did their gaming GPU chips business do, considering the bigger than expected downswing in the GPU business from the last quarter ?

3. What does the guidance look like ?

With a couple of big product launches on deck over this year: 

a. Next gen high end gaming GPU (Radeon RX Vega).

b. Super high end next gen XBox, Scorpio, that has AMD GPUs.

c. Apple's next gen iMacs.

It should be an interesting Monday and rest of the year for AMD.
